Twenty-eight golf courses are located within 30 minutes of town and Lake Norman provides nearly unlimited water recreation. As expected in a small, college town, K-12 students have access to some of the finest schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. Although many residents commute to Charlotte for work, local industry provides employment in the following areas: education, health and social services, research, finance, insurance, leasing and manufacturing.
